Onyx is the sequel to Obsidian and man oh man does Jen do us justice in this book. I have been swamped with so many things that I am very far behind on my reviews. After meeting Jen last week at a book signing I said dang it I need to post my review like ASAP! I have to Jen has this knack for writing that totally blows you away and keeps you coming back for more. So enough babbling let's get to the nitty gritty which is the review of course!

Initial reaction: "Onyx" impressed me more than I thought it would going into it. I definitely liked Daemon more in this book, and while Katy pretty much has everything thrown at her in this book, I saw why she reacted the way she did. The combination of humor, action, and romance in this was well balanced, and I thought it worked for the story very well. I need to collect my thoughts, but I'm very much looking forward to the next book.

"I still want to strangle you. But I'm insane. You're crazy. Maybe that's why. We just make crazy together."
This book is so great it hurts. I really tried to only read a few pages per day in the hope that I don't have to say goodbye to this book so soon, but I failed. Curiosity killed me. I can hardly put this book down. I don't know if it sounds weird or not, but when you love reading a particular book, you really don't mind whether it's a very thick book or not. If you haven’t read Obsidian yet, I’m not sure what is wrong with you. While they’re not amazing books in my opinion, I like reading them. They’re fun and quick to read and very enjoyable. Onyx, book two in the Lux series, dealt more with Daemon and Katy’s relationship with the alien aspect taking backseat. Though I had issues with this book, I felt like it accomplished its goal: it entertained me. Again, I didn’t love this book and I didn’t feel like this book was better than Obsidian and I did

I finally understood the buzz centering around Daemon Black, even if I'm few years late!

I've seen the Lux series everywhere! From Goodreads to blogsphere even in bookshops around me, for some reason I never picked them up, until last week. Perhaps it was because I got sick with the paranormal romance genre that always centers around the same old cliched plot, and maybe I was trying to branch out and venture into unknown territory (romantic suspense and contemporary romance seemed to be my favor ...more

Woah!! Onyx is even better than the first in this series! I was hooked from the very first page & couldn't put my Kindle down.
I would highly recommend this series to anyone that likes paranormal romance. You won't regret it!! ...more
