All the love, Mistborn you deserve all the love.

It was a pretty good story, but maybe I had my hopes up too much from all the rave reviews. While I never felt the book dragged or was hard to get into, I did enjoy the last third or so more than the first 2/3. The world is so different that a lot of setup was needed, but it was well done for the most part.
An interesting system of magic, but it took a longer stretch than most. At the end, we find out more about the Steel Inquistors that didn't do a lot for me. I thought that revelation, along w ...more

Whipped through this! I love books that are so entrancing you just want to shut the world away and devote yourself to the story.

A+ for world building. The Allomancers were BAMF, and Kelsier was a completely intriguing character. I really liked Vin and the plot had me super intrigued. I loved her initial interactions with Elend.

Brandon Sanderson is truly a master world builder.
The Mistborn series starts out with a bang. The story unfolds as a gang of thieves plot a whole new world rising out of very dark times.
The story includes a series of really well thought out and developed characters that help bring it to life and the magic of the world is based on internal alchemy of metals in such a creative way. Though it took me awhile to really get going, once the fire caught, it burned like a beautiful conflagration.

I read this before it came out. Reread it after it came out and it's even better. It's a great fantasy book with a wonderful protagonist.
