It’s been years since I originally read this novel, enough of them to have forgotten the intricacies of the plot line of this story of a virtual heist by a down-on-his-luck hacker and his motley collection of colleagues. Several AI personalities also appear as main characters in the story, which really created the cyberpunk sub-genre and fueled the virtual fantasies of many young boys (and girls). Hard to feel immersed in the world. Gibson has a very specific world in mind and you are dropped smack in the middle of it with only subtle context clues to help orient yourself to the terminology, descriptions, and sometimes even the characters. However, the plot is great. Much of it is achieved through dialogue which I appreciated.
