After 10+ months and 780+ pages, I've finally finished this! This is the final book in the trilogy. This is an epic, Michner-like
story of the colonization and terraformation of Mars. For the most part, it follows various members of the "First Hundred"
settlers and their relatives through all their trials and tribulations, relationships, and political rivalries as tensions between Earth

Finally, I have vanquished the Mars trilogy! It was a long and rough ride, to be honest. I probably should have given up on the first book. They'll never be favorites. I had a terrible time liking or caring for any of the characters. In fact, it took me until this very book to do that. I certainly admire Robinson's attention to detail, his extensive research, and the scope of his imagination, but I would venture that his writing, for the most part, just isn't for me.
