I read this as a paperback a couple of times over the years, but too long ago to do a review. I recently listened to it as an audio book & it was just as wonderful. See that review here:

This book starts out with everything just hunky dory, and then we're gradually introduced to the way this world -really- works. Yes, there's not a consistent protagonist--most of the characters aren't all that likable, but there is redemption that's achieved in unexpected ways, and the mirror that this book turns on Western society is still relevant today. I really loved this book, and I read it in like 7th and 10th grade, first for myself, and then for class.
