After pining over this book for months I have ran through it in just days, and find myself in waiting all over again. Such a tremendous author that has me cursing and ranting for hours after finishing the final pages of every book. Rose s journey has been long, but well worth every minute spent reading. I have been torn to find the determination of Rose s future. After having traveled to Siberia in the last book, she is back at Valdamir long enough to graduate in this novel. I have been torn to find the determination of Rose s future. After having traveled to Siberia in the last book, she is back at Valdamir long enough to graduate in this novel. So largely this book takes place at Court that was visited in an early novel. I was astounded by the amount of action all in this one book. It was almost like three stories wrapped into one. At 489 pages I was impressed this this book didn t have a rushed feel while reading. On to the goods, I am ecstatic about the outcome of Dimitri. Although I found myself torn over the liking I have taken to Adrian. I can honestly say that I have no idea how I would like it to turn out. [return][return]As a whole Spirit Bound has taken the safe and comfortable world, and twisted it upside down leaving no one to trust. Mead s twist in that leaves in Rose imprisoned was a hard punch to the gut, and I don t know who Mead plans to get her out of this predicament. In light of these events Rose s Dad has taken on a lot larger role in this book, and I anticipate he will be a large role in the upcoming Last Sacrifice. Usually after reading a series this one long; one begins to have feelings about where the next novel with lead but with this author I am at a total loss. I can not wait for December, so that I can jump on reading the six and what I believe will be the final book. [return][return]This amazing series carries tremendous followers, and I believe that is largely to due with the quality of these stories. The VA series may be told from Rose s point of view, but with her ability to see through Lisa it is almost like having another main character. The amount of emotion rolled into each book allows for more input from many of the other characters, as well and they are all powerful characters. Lastly, I like to note about covers. VA Covers are one of the best looking I come across. Not much for the mystery, but they are amazingly beautiful artwork. So here s to waiting for December. [return][return] ...more

OMG!!! This book ended with a cliff-hanger. I cannot wait until December when the next and last book comes out.
I think Rose is an amazing character. Her passion for the people she loves is awesome.
I am HOPING that she and Dimitri end up together. Adrian is a nice guy and all, but he is not the guy for Rose. You can tell that her heart belongs to Dimitri.
I can't wait to see where this series goes and ends... ...more

The most unsettling installment of the Vampire Academy series yet. A whole new world of crap is hinted at but barely allowed a glimpse at in this book, only teasing for what more is to come. Lots of headbanging. Good, but some parts seemed implausible and/or too simple (if its a maximum-security prison, then why can a bunch of teenagers break into it so easily, with so little planning?), other parts made me want to throw the book against the wall (a lot of selfish, thoughtless moments on Rose's The most unsettling installment of the Vampire Academy series yet. Good, but some parts seemed implausible and/or too simple (if its a maximum-security prison, then why can a bunch of teenagers break into it so easily, with so little planning?), other parts made me want to throw the book against the wall (a lot of selfish, thoughtless moments on Rose's part...has she seriously learned nothing from the incident with Mason? and don't even get me STARTED about Dimitri...), but the whole thing kept me unable me to put it down. Well, it began it a bit slowly, but once it started, it never let up.

This series has truly evolved since the action-packed Gossip-Girl-like first novel (though throughout, maintains its trademark humor, which is particularly funny in some of the most dramatic moments). Rose also has a very intriguing second Tarot card reading, much of which is confounding at the time, but is understood by the end the book. However, it only leads to more questions. In fact, this book leaves with so many questions, it's hard to believe they can all be resolved in one more book (even more difficult is it to be seen how I will be able to last until then...).

Queen Tatiana's image changes entirely in this book, which was something I did not expect at all, and flips all sorts of things on their head. Is nothing really as it seems? What do we really know about the political system? Different sides of many characters are revealed in this book for the first time. A little bit more of Lissa's family background is revealed, and becomes incredibly important by the end of the novel.

There is also a glimpse of a psychiatric ward in this book with spirit users that provides a warning of what could happen to Lissa and Adrian, and also teases at whole other sides of this universe that haven't even be seen yet.

(On a side note, this book also doubled my support for ChristianxLissa, which I already found pretty damn cute before this book; the aftermath of their break-up leads to a lot of tense, fumbling, and overall adorable denial and unresolved sexual tension.)

In all honesty, the events of this book seem more like a set-up for the final novel, with a lot of action crammed in and not much of the aftermath of it seen yet. It certainly creates a lot of suspense, which will no doubt have to appeased with fanfiction until December (thank God the wait's only half a year this time!).

This book was by far the best.The twisst an turns that it took made this book one that I could not put down.I was not sure at first if I was going to get into this series but everything about it draws you in.You get so into the lives of the characters.You starts to live with them,Its great really..I can't explain it.Even at the end of the books you are left full filled,Don't get me wrong I so want it to be december so that I can read the next installment...but i am good at waiting I HOPE ...more

This is a truly amazing series. It's gonna be a sad time when the series ends. I feel that Rose has continued to change throughout each book, and she is a completley different person then she was when the series started. These books are so well written, it's like I can actually feel Rose's many emotions, her heartbreak, her love, her anger, all of it. I think that really adds to my love for this series. Holy cow. Awesome. Richelle Mead has done it again. I stayed up all night reading it. Amazing. Rose and Adrian...Rose and Dimitri...hmmm. The action scenes were intense and so were the few intimate scenes. I hope Dimitri forgives himself before it's too late. I'm glad Lissa and Christian made up, but what a cliff hanger - ugh! You're killing me Miss Mead. I can't wait for more - awesome, awesome, awesome!!! ...more
