How do you make right a long ago wrong? How do you fix something that you don't know what you need to fix? This story was riveting and emotional. I loved it for all the wrongs it made me love it.

Perhaps 4.5 stars, not sure yet
This was a difficult book to read, not because of the printed words on the pages but because of the content:
A grisly crime was committed. An overweight girl who was from a different race was bullied at school. A teacher may have had deep secrets. Many students had secrets. It’s a good thing I stopped listening to this book and just read it. The narration, especially for Rachel, was horrible! Mechanical is an understatement when describing it.
The story has some unique twists that I thought were interesting. I’m not sure if I’ll give this author another chance however.

Wow...that was stunning. Ms. White, I think this may be the best yet...and that's saying a lot, given that I've loved all of your work. The amount of times my jaw dropped as I read this might have hit a record. All of this, and I am Canadian and clearly remember this case and what really happened. I kept trying to figure out how the real outcome was going to play into the story, but I never imagined it the way you set it up.
Brilliant!

Wow...this story is riveting. Dark and sad and twisted, and so well written. Top read of 2021.
