2024 Update
I listened to the story this second go round. My original comments stand and the story was even more enjoyable because of the outstanding narration by Kaminsky.

2016 Review
As Sam and Nick prepare for the upcoming inauguration, she's still recuperating from her physical and emotional injuries sustained from Stahl's assault. Clearly suffering silently from the effects of PTSD, Sam wonders if she'll ever be able to return to the job. In the meantime, her team is grappling with a tough ca

Fatal Frenzy
4 Stars

In the aftermath of her ordeal, Detective Lieutenant Sam Holland is on medical leave and struggling to regain her zest for the job. In the meantime, her team at Metro PD is investigating a series of knife attacks with very few leads. However, when the next attack strikes close to home, Sam is determined to return to work and hunt down a ruthless monster.

Series note:The ongoing plotlines and character development require reading in order.

Solid 4.5 stars.
I’m stunned how consistent this series is. There is excellent character development, the mystery is as good as this author is going to get. Overall, it’s just plain enjoyable to read. I really like Scotty and that’s so rare for me to look forward to a child character scenes but there you go. There are laughs, there are tears and it is a really solid read, enjoy.

3.5~4 "FINALLY" Stars

Simply put....despite it's flaws all of the things I love about this series FINALLY came together and produced the best book to date!! With a few good twists, tons of family love, well placed & great secondary story lines, and Nick & Sam at their absolute best...Fatal Frenzy let me know the time I've invested in this series was not wasted. Definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next.

The team had a lot to work through after the events of the previous book but, once Sam got her head back in the game, it was an adrenaline rush to the finish. The scene during the parade walk - classic Sam! Scotty was especially adorable.

Another amazing installment, with some serious ups and downs. It will be interesting to see how the story progresses with Nick as VP.

Inauguration is coming up, and things are not quiet and peaceful. Another good book in this series.
