The story begins with Rhiannon trying to get her bearings after learning she has been thrust into the future after making a deal with an evil demon. She is quickly captured by a group claiming to protect her from the vampires. Their leader, Carter, takes an immediate liking to Rhiannon and tries to convince her why she can’t be around the vampires.

The Renfield Syndrome is book two in the Rhiannon Law series by J.A. Saare. This is one of the few second books in the series that is just as good, if not better then the first book-Dead, Undead and Some where In Between. This book does not work well as a stand alone-I highly recommend you read the first one before diving into this gem. The Renfield Syndrome had me laughing, crying, and going: "What the fuck just happened here?" (Yes, I who never swear just did.)

The Renfield Syndrome is one of those books that is hard to write a review for. There's not a whole lot that can be said in the review without giving away some major plot points within the book. I personally don't like writing spoilers in my reviews because I like other readers to find out for themselves what happens in a book. So I'm going to try to skirt around the major things that happen all while trying to give my point of view about the book.

Unbelievable angst, tension, suspense, and heartbreak makes this book a top read for 2011. I read this in one night. Once I got started it was impossible to stop. Though I loved Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between, The Renfield Syndrome takes it all a step further and digs beneath the layers to strip the characters bare. Rhiannon pushes all the boundaries to step up and do what needs to be done-regardless of her own well being. So many emotions assault you as you read of the pain, h ...more

I loved this book from beginning to end...And um...Hello Carter!!! I don't want to give anything away, so i'll just say this. This is how a sequel should be written. I'm looking forward to The Ripple Effect!
