Enjoyed for accurate singlish and the insight into street kids from 1950s Singapore, a world I never experienced. Characters were a little indistinguishable though and I never came to root for anyone in particular. Also, the female characters were as disposable as the female spiders to the boys, only fit for mating and completely defined by their sexuality and nothing else, a major weakness of the book.
