What Members Thought

Not as good as her other "mythical creatures like wizards and shapechangers meet and fall in love" trilogy (the one that starts with Morrigan's Cross), but if you are in the mood for a standard Roberts novel, this one will fill the need. As always, the characters' snark and humor make this a fun book to read.

Sawyer and Annika.
Solid middle book. I enjoyed this love story the most, I think. Annika is such an interesting mix of naive and sweet, but still a woman, you know? The narrator did a *GREAT* job with her voice and making her... strange usage of words seem natural for her. Some pretty crazy stuff happens in this book and I was glad to see that it didn't spoil her, you know? She sees ugliness than exists in humans, but it doesn't jade her...

Usually I prefer NR's first book in a series. And while I enjoyed Sasha and Bran's story, I loved Sawyer and Annika. Sawyer was so relatable and goofy. And I imagine Annike as kind of like Starfire on Teen Titans Go. (At least that was the voice I was hearing while reading her lines.) The overall story moved along nicely. Now I have to wait until the end of the year for the last one.
