It's a wonderful work of fiction. Patty uses the backdrop of pre-depression Detroit to tell her tale of Edwardian romance, crime, and murder. As I read this book I felt more and more like I was reading the work of an early American realist, very much in the vein of a Henry James or a Kate Chopin. The setting is perfect, the characters are right on, and the story engages you.

Loved it!!

Straight out of the gate on her first novel, Patty Wiseman has produced a creative and entrancing historical romantic mystery. The characters are alive in your heart and mind. This is a definite page turner and makes the reader beg for more. Will there be a sequel? Excellent job and excellent writing!
