Christian is the 10th book in the series "Vampires in America". The story line was engaging, progressing, and action packed like always. We don't get to much of Raph and Cyn but Vincent and Lana have some small story of their own in this book.

As for the romance.. I just didn't feel it like the other books. Way to quick for me. It went from 0 to what felt to me like a year long relationship in like hours. Plus the whole suggested 3 some with his bestie..... Umm no. Yeah my reading skill zeroed i ...more

Christian is book 10 in the Vampire in America series. I will start by saying D.B. Reynolds has done an awesome job keeping this series interesting and I do love where she is going and how Raphael has set all the chips into place for the coming wars. Now back to this book, Christian like all her vampires was super yummy. I really enjoyed everything about him. Natalie was ok she was cute but for me nothing else. The Southern Territory is up for grabs and Christian Duvall is determined to claim it but the battle has taken a treacherous edge because one of his enemies wants what already belongs to Christian in this spectacular paranormal romance.

Natalie loves her complex job and the simplicity of her life until she meets Christian and she has to fight to keep him alive and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as Texas becomes the battleground for some of the most dangerous vampires alive. Ex The Southern Territory is up for grabs and Christian Duvall is determined to claim it but the battle has taken a treacherous edge because one of his enemies wants what already belongs to Christian in this spectacular paranormal romance.

Natalie loves her complex job and the simplicity of her life until she meets Christian and she has to fight to keep him alive and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as Texas becomes the battleground for some of the most dangerous vampires alive. Expectation builds lots of tension as allies and enemies alike try to remove Christian from the challenge for Lord of the South and excitement builds throughout the story as the dangers escalate with a horde of zombie vampires being prepped to roll right over Texas and everyone that gets in the way. Vivid imagery brings each and every scene to life as the well written passages and details capture the imagination and the intriguing events sweep the readers along on a challenge that guarantees there is never a dull moment while a few unexpected twists keeps everyone on their toes.

The plot is fast paced, smooth flowing and provides readers with lots of thrills, suspense and romance as the strong charismatic characters demand attention while Christian uses every shred of power and Natalie’s determination to win the war. Sizzling chemistry and scorching sex scenes provide spicy excitement while Natalie and Christian try to adjust to trusting one another with some powerful encounters as Christian makes it known to one and all including our favorite vampires that he’s the best man for the job.

Okay I have to hand it to Christian, he waltzed right in and made my heart pound and my senses tingle with excitement as his powerful vibe leapt from the pages and Natalie just made the perfect female for him…too bad though because I would have loved to have kept him for myself. Oh well…I’ll just have to keep dreaming and impatiently waiting for next exciting story and I do mean exciting because no one has heard from Sophia and Colin.

Following a great predecessor, this outing wastes no time pulling the reader in and showing Christian Duvall's value to the series. A child of the not lamented Mathilde, Christian has every intention of becoming Lord of the South, despite the position being currently filled by the duplicitous Anthony of New Orleans.

Shrewd Anthony has terrorized and manipulated his 'distant cousins' and blackmailed Natalie Gaudet into working for him. Not a particular fan of vampires, let alone Anthony, Natalie' Following a great predecessor, this outing wastes no time pulling the reader in and showing Christian Duvall's value to the series. Christian's power is so great, series fans wonder if he could rival the legendary (in his own time) Raphael. He also presents good looks, a great physique, intelligence, charm, sex appeal and did I mention the power he's bringing to the table? Christian quickly notices that Anthony has Natalie in his sights and definitely not in a familial way. Christian's more than ready to meet that challenge too.

Natalie's predictable stupidy, stupidy, stupidy (not stupidity, stupidy) thought was so annoying, this reader wanted to reach into the book and snatch her bald! The diabolical, megalomaniacal scheme plotted by nefarious characters was excellently executed and so much fun to read. The brilliant battle scenes definitely excited the action junkie buried (not so deeply) in this reader!

Series regulars and earlier Lords make cameos (but the scenes don't feel final), as they band together to both welcome to their allied ranks, the challenge winner, as Lord of the South as well as thwart the trouble threatening to bleed into Texas near the Mexican border, a legacy from the plans of the quite mad Mathilde.

New characters were also brought in to round the story, some of whom may have been interesting enough to see again. This well-written read moved fast and held this reader in its grasp because it did not want to be put down. As with any fairly long series there are both great and not so good installments, for this reader's taste, this installment is definitely in the former category. Oui, oui!

'Christian' follows on from 'Deception' in the 'Vampires in America' series. It had a lot to live up to after such a great story, which I'm pleased to say it delivers. Christian is a delicious character and the instant attraction between him and Natalie bubbles along nicely throughout the book. Natalie took a little longer to find her 'inner kick ass', but proved she had what it takes to stand up to a brooding and possessive male vampire. Awesomesauce!!

This is definitely a good read for the series. Christian was an interesting character. He wasn't as put together as the other Lords. He was deemed an enemy, then an outsider and now we wait to see what happens. I like how this series is coming together. I link this to a great big floor puzzle.
Natalie is the unknown who has these hidden talents that I admired. I'm glad she wasn't like the stupid heroines always rushing out just to be kidnapped. That was quite refreshing. Overall I ...more
