RE-READ/skimmed 7 Nov 2019 (★★★½ rounded up)

Had to speed-read NIGHT AND SILENCE b/c turns out, I remember dodo from initial read last yr. Lots happening—and all in one day??? Exhausting. Anyhoo, I could nitpick a few things but overall, VG & entertaining = bump up in rating.

Whilst core plot in NIGHT AND SILENCE not as involved as some others in series, serves as vehicle to reveal critical info re: Toby's personal/family life & moves forward relationship w/ daughter. Also, Tybalt kinda reconciles ...more

This book was a sad book for me. It seemed like a lot of shit was being thrown at Toby while no one checked in with her. Ok I take that back they checked on her but she claimed she was fine.

The things going on in this book are a lot. And it’s been a while between books that I couldn’t remember everyone’s name. At this point I think we are Geez didn’t expect this to end there. Really because the overall major plot is still in progress. There is still someone else out there trying to go after Toby.

There is so much to unpack here but the main story is that Gillian was kidnapped again.

And the revelations here are messed up as hell with regards to Miranda.

I can’t wait for more though. Just wish this book factually finished up the issues.

****12.1 Novella*****

This was included in the book and at first I totally thought it was a new new series type of thing and then I thought it was a glimpse at Toby’s future daughter but then quickly realized what was going on. I had zero idea what this was about and looking this novella up on goodreads, it’s not there right now. So I’m writing my review here.

This is all about those missing scenes with Gillian after Tybalt takes her. And it’s nice to get inside her head, but she’s super irritating. I totes get like why she thinks the way she does but for a person like myself I wouldn’t have been able to go years without trying to ask questions about why she left me, so the fact that Gillian did frustrated me to no end. Her utter spoiledness. Yea in some ways I was hoping she’d die (since it’s a book) so Toby could move on from her. But I know it’d kill her so, we can’t have that.

But if we are going to have her in Faerie now, then I wouldn’t mind her POVs when she learns what actually happened to Toby. I want to be there when she finds out. Whether in her own novella, in a Toby book or hell both like it was done in this one.
But I need to see her realize she didn’t know shit. :D ...more
