I really liked this one -- the main character is fun, feisty, and ends up in an unusual situation. There's attacks, hilarious moments, borderline hot moments (still not sure which of the guys will be the one yet), intriguing world building. For a change she's the norm in a group of paranormals instead of there being something unsual about her "powers" (she has none). Will be reading the second soon.

I loved this book and now I totally get why this series is so popular! It was such a fun read, the characters were great and the plot was intriguing as well.
Tori was a great character - volatile, quick to temper and react, reckless at times, but completely loyal and determined. Despite being the only human in a guild bar of mythics, she stood her ground, not letting anyone walk all over her, even though her actions in previous jobs would have got her fired in the very least.

Tori can't hold a job due to her temper and ends up applying at a mage bar even though she is completely human and wins over 3 powerful mages as friends (and maybe more).
What I enjoyed:
* The book was a quick, enjoyable read
* I enjoyed the characters. Aaron, Kai and Ezra are interesting and very good friends. I'm glad Tori seemed to make friends beyond them.
* Will definitely check out the next one

After being fired from her fourth job in six months, Tori doesn’t hold out much hope for getting the experienced bartender job without any experience but she goes to see what they’ll say. Luckily for Tori, the person she needs to talk to is so buried in work, under a hard deadline and hasn’t begun on the nights event, she’s brought on that night as her interview.
For a change, Tori’s ‘I don’t have to take your crap’ attitude serves her well with the odd but snooty clientele. It’s not until a few ...more
