Genre: Paranormal Romance
There hasn't been a PNR debut that's gotten this much buzz since Larissa Ione first made her debut. Other reviewers who have similar tastes to me even stated it was ground breaking fantasy, right up there with Nalini Singh and J.R. Ward. Both authors—along with many other well known authors—gave Dragon Bound serious high praise. So I immediately bought this book against my better judgment, because you can't ignore praise like that.

A couple people recommended this book to me and I'm glad I took them up on it and read it. Pia was a great heroine. She was smart and resourceful. Don't let the cheesy cover throw you off, this is a fun story that will leave you wanting more.
What I enjoyed:
* Pia. She made one stupid mistake before the book started and it snowballs into craziness. I love that she stood up to Dragos, his sentinels and Urien.
* Dragos. I disliked him at the beginning. The super old, all-powerful, overbearing males g ...more

Absolutely fantastic! I totally loved this book. Pia Giovanni has been kept protected by her mother for her entire life. Hiding from...well everyone. She is half-human, half-wyr though she has no idea what she would become since she cannot shift. Her mother has convinced her that it is extremely dangerous to let anyone know about her abilities. In her loneliness, she tells her boyfriend one thing and he uses it to blackmail her. Of course Pia is smarter than the average bear and she does what he

I listened to the audio version of this book, rather then read it. I think if I had read it I would have liked it much better then I did sadly.
I went through phases when it came to this book, the start I enjoyed. Then after about a quarter of the book I wasn't feeling it. I stuck with it until I got about half way or so, I was enjoying the story. The characters were starting to grow on me but then I got turned off yet again. But I stuck with it. And I ended up liking the story.

Great read.
Pia is my type of heroine: independent and kick-ass, no shrinking violent or damsel in distress.
Dragos is alpha to the core and my first, if I recall correctly, dragon shifter.
These two or total opposites in most ways, except where it counts. They are both fiercely loyal and honor bound.
Thea Harrison does a great job building this fantastic world filled with these wonderful supernatural creatures.

. Why did I take so long to read this?! I love dragon-shifters! And Pia Giovanni is very cool in her own right, except for her taste in men. I wish more books would be about Pia and Dragos! They are snarky and sassy and sizzling together, just like I love PNR. Thinking I'll be reading the next book soon!
I am bummed that Dragos is the only dragon-shifter, but looking forward to the gryphons & harpy.
Likes:
* Pia bartends for Quentin at Elfie's Bar
* Snarky comments

Good first book of a new series. However I did think it was similar to quite a few other series, especially Nalini Singh's guild hunters.

Really enjoyed this story. Ms. Harrison did a fantastic job of world building. I liked how the species came in to being, and was intriqued to keeping moving forward.
I couldn't put this book down.
The characters are very likeable, very passionate, strong willed and sexy has hell. Yummy, yummy is what my Dragos is. Damn he's hot, dominant and strong, just my kind of dragon.
I liked Pia too; although she has things to work through she did not deny herself the pleasure of the dragon king. Smart girl ...more

My personal schedule really made this book take longer than necessary to read, but when I got a chance really read I enjoyed it alot. I liked the characters and was surprised by the peanut. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
