My first ever Juliette Cross and apparently Iv been missing out..

The inner wolf was hilarious , foul mouthed and the star of the show. Mateo himself came across a somewhat of a beta and while I really enjoyed Evie's geekyness (helooooooo reylo!!!) it got just a wee bit annoying (that's me probably and not the book) . Mateo Cruz & Evie Savoie

Why did I wait so long to read this book? It's always interesting to see how different authors create their paranormal worlds and Juliette didn't disappoint with hers.

There are so many things to like about this book. It is funny and the chemistry between Evie and Mateo was off the charts. I liked the relationship between the Savoie sisters and the little peek into the romances that are surely to follow.

Mateo is a cursed as his inner wolf drives him crazy as he can't change. He goes to the local hexbreaker for help, even though the witches usually avoid werewolves.

What I enjoyed:
* I liked both Evie and Mateo, but felt I didn't get to know them well. Evie is a nerd with low self esteem and Mateo is a loner artist who has no other interests.
* I actually enjoyed the parts with supporting characters more. Evie's sisters are an eclectic bunch and Nico and Ruben are interesting as well as the cousins ...more

This book was unexpected. I have been in a pretty long reading slump, falling into rereads for some of familiarity. This book was the first one I read throughly and it was pretty enjoyable. Was it predictable, yes, BUT the characters were pretty well rounded, the plot was interesting enough to hook me in. The author is definitely laying the ground work in this story for future installments. I am interested enough to read them at a future date.
