Mercury Striking was a really enjoyable intro to a new series by Rebecca Zanetti. I loved the concept of the story and seeing the aftermath of the outbreak and how people are surviving. I loved Jax, he was deadly and willing to protect those he had under his protection. Lynne was also a great character, she was just the right amount of soft for Jax. They are going to be a great team to lead this group. I look forward to reading more in this series.

This book probably hits differently, reading after the pandemic. A disease has wiped out 90% of the population and some who survive are fine and others turn into serial killers.

What I enjoyed:
* I liked a lot of the secondary characters. Wyatt, Tace, Sami, etc. I've very vested in their outcomes in future books (view spoiler)

Action

This is a action packed adventure and I loved it. Lynne has a lot of baggage and needs help. She is trying to save humanity but all of humanity don’t even trust her. I liked her courage and her strength. Jax is damaged and only cares about survival. He wants to use Lynne to cure everyone. Whether she likes it or not she is stuck with him. They were cute together and I wonder how Raze will be in the next book.
