I did not love the book as much as my 'paranormal romance friends', it had too much in the terms of traditional paranormal romance subplot for me....BUT did enjoy it quite a bit.
Wrath is a king of sorts among his kind, followed by a band of loyal brothers, all powerful and all troubled in their own way. He must lead them against a war of vampire hunters, while honoring his promise to protect a friends daughter as she "transforms." OMG...Beth is a regular girl doing regular girl stuff...not...regular anyways...when she sees someone outside her window she has no idea of the vampire king who has come to protect her. He has no idea that she is to be his queen. But he made a promise to a fallen warrior and he makes good on his word.
This was one hell of a read...although I hate the lessers...I tend to skim over them cause they don't deserve my time...anyways...J.R. has a way of bringing the pages to life, I could see the charac ...more

Book One of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

As I was reading I found that the basic storyline to be really interesting but the writing at times kind of got to me. The "funny" moments seemed forced. I wasn't a fan of the names but, I can over look that. Wrath at times reminded me of the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, and yes I mean the Disney cartoon. But over all good book, can't wait to read the second book in the series. I'm looking forward to know what happens to some of the ot ...more

I keep expecting myself to like this series more than I do. I'm not a huge fan of this series, because it is so dark, I'm not a fan of the Lessers and the religious aspects make me uncomfortable. This reminded me of Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series. And I LOVE that series. I think this one was a little darker and the brotherhood vampires were more scary and seriously flawed than the Nightwalker demons. I really enjoyed Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors vampire warrior romance series more or

This is the 1st novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I love this series so much I have a physical copy, a Kindle copy, and an Audible copy. And I reread the series frequently. The Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB) world is Vampires, Lessers, and humans. Oh and 2 sort of deities - the good is the Scribe Virgin and the evil is the Omega. The war between the Vampires and the Lessers is kept away from humans when possible. The BDB were bred to be Warriors. Wrath is the son of the last Vampire King an
