Alice is a regular girl, she goes to school, she has a brother, her mom works nights and is never home but Alice is a typical teenage girl who goes to high school. One night her and her friend Jane were out trying to get into the clubs when they almost get hurt by someone, instead Jack shows up and saves them. Jane is totally in love with Jack but so is everyone else except for Alice, Alice doesn't see what all the commotion is about. She starts hanging out with Jack, until he decides she needs Alice is a regular girl, she goes to school, she has a brother, her mom works nights and is never home but Alice is a typical teenage girl who goes to high school. One night her and her friend Jane were out trying to get into the clubs when they almost get hurt by someone, instead Jack shows up and saves them. Jane is totally in love with Jack but so is everyone else except for Alice, Alice doesn't see what all the commotion is about. She starts hanging out with Jack, until he decides she needs to meet his family. There is no good in the house, and there are other strange things going on with this family. She finds out Peter, Jack's brother, doesn't like her, or she thinks he doesn't. It turns out Jack was in on a plan the whole time to pick her for Peter, Peter feels something for her, and even though Jack was supposed to pick her up for Peter, he ends up falling in love with her. Everytime peter isn't around she loves Jack, but when Peter is around she has this connection that she just can't seem to break. Oh yeah did I mention Jack and his family are vampires. They wanted to turn her to be Peter's mate, but Jack loves her, so she has to make a decision on whether she wants to be a human aging like humans do or she wants to be a vampire who never ages but watches the people she loves age. I gave this book 5 stars, I couldn't put this down. Everytime I had to go do something I would continue to read lol, it was that good. I also found it to be a very easy read. It was an unusual story I had never read before. Jack was my favorite character, he seemed to really love Alice and he also seemed to be a very well put together guy. Although his story about his family is sad, but he seemed to take being a vampire pretty well because of the way his family was.

Alice, I hated that she couldn't make a decision about anything, but most stories are like. It kind of adds a twist I guess to it. Milo, Alice's brother, has no clue as to what is going on. Turns out he is gay. Like I said I definitely give it 5 stars, i can't wait to read the next book. Thanks to a friend for lending this out to me so I could read it on my kindle. An ok book - a bit too YA for me really. No real action in it at all. No blood and gore, other than a bit on Alice's lip and some old blood on Jack's old shorts! Quite a few spelling/grammatical errors, which really bugged me, like your instead of you're and bored instead of board!

I thought Alice was just too accepting of the "family" of vampires and was so willing to accept everything they said and even considered turning into one herself without even questioning anything. I didn't think it wa ...more

I really enjoyed this book! Alice seems like a relatable teen and I grew to love Jack the vampire... I also enjoyed her twist on vampire mythology!
