This novel has alot going for it.....a story with good bones.

Humans around the world have taken a vaccine for a killer disease and that has made their blood poison to vampires. With fewer 'un-vaccinated" humans available vampires around the world have become hyper predators to stay alive; their urgency to find blood and avoid starving has resulted in more visible attacks on humans.

Wow...what a terrific start to a series that's sure to be a winner.
I loved the world building, I loved the characters, the story, the trials and successes of the Penton group. Aidan, Mirren, and Will are sure to get a faithful following. I know that I'll be on the Penton train...
Aidan has his hands full with being responsible for a large scathe of vampires and Krys just adds to his troubles. She's stubborn, most times at the risk to herself and Aidan's vampires.

I really liked this series starter. And what a unique concept - the humans have contracted a disease that can only be cured by vaccine. Unfortunately, these vaccinated humans are poison to vampires. Luckily vampire master Aidan Murphy had a master plan to reinvent the vampire/human interaction. Aidan is one of the few who see humans as necessary instead of just a food source.
