Omega (Penton Legacy, #3) in My Vampire Book Obsession

I thought this was the final book in the trilogy but come to find out there's a fourth book and apparently there will be shape shifters as well as Omega Force. Hmmm things are changing up in Penton, Alabama. I loved Cage in this one and look forward to his story (eagle shifter and all).

I've loved Will since the beginning and was happy to get to his story. I knew during book two that Randa would be his soulmate and I liked how it played out. I was amazed at the things his father subjected him to ...more

Overall, I'm really enjoying the series. I might even fudge up to 4½♥s on this (though if I do, book #2 definitely needs to be at least 4½♥s.) The world is interesting, the mythology and 'urban' influence on the vampires keeps everything inventive and fun, and the characters are oodles of joy. This book has the whole banter thing down pat... but I will say it seemed a hair forced on the romance. One of my favorite things about this series is that the author doesn’t drag out the plot. Each book has a totally different and unique story. The characters have all been different, not carbon copies of each other. I was curious how she would get the Penton vampires out of their current debacle, and I was pleased with the direction she is taking this story. I love Will...Oh hell...I'll just admit I have a huge crush on all of the Penton crew...
Will's story was touching and sad and made me so angry at the thing called his father.
The fact that Will survived his father's handling proved his character.
I couldn't put this book down, I tried to read it slow but just couldn't. I was sucked in and didn't want to surface until the last page.
This book is an easy read, easy to follow and easy on the imagination.

I loved it. Book three wraps up a wonderful story which started in book one. While books one and two centered around the two master vampires in the town of Penton....book three was all Will, son of Mathias (arch enemy and really bad dad)and smart-ass, golden playboy Master in the making.

What this series has going for it is not so much the romance and sex scenes but the entire storyline and plot. It is intricate and has so many players that you are so enthralled with what is going on 4.75 Stars!!!

I loved it. Book three wraps up a wonderful story which started in book one. While books one and two centered around the two master vampires in the town of Penton....book three was all Will, son of Mathias (arch enemy and really bad dad)and smart-ass, golden playboy Master in the making.

What this series has going for it is not so much the romance and sex scenes but the entire storyline and plot. It is intricate and has so many players that you are so enthralled with what is going on you sometimes forget that this is basically a romance trilogy.

The author brings in so many interesting characters....on both sides of a vampire war; who each have unique abilities and personality facets. Most of these characters you grow to really care about and/or hate.

Will partners with Renda in this story. Renda is a former soldier, turned vampire by surprise while serving in Afghanistan five years ago. She disappeared from site and let her family believe she was dead. She has never quite accepted her life as a vampire, is depressed, a bit lost while keeping her tough as nails exterior.

Will is her exact opposite....carefree, smart, a ladies man...accepting of life as it is. He has a long history of emotional and sexual abuse from his father and his cronies and hides it with his "what-ever", comedic attitude.

In what has become an almost impossible situation at Omega, an underground bunker Will and Renda decide to travel to visit her father to see if he can help them. Daddy runs a paramilitary company with his sons (all former military.) Can you imagine walking up one night and knocking on the door.....what would you say? What emotions would you feel when your dad opened the door?

I can't say much more without giving away the ending but I thought that everything was plausible. And I liked how things did not happen over night and quickly as they do in some novels. this series had a more realistic feel to it as the desperation built over time. In the end we are satisfied and happy readers.

The seamless transition from Absolution gives the feeling of a new chapter as Matthias' settles in to make the abandoned Penton his personal project headquarters. Matthias' sadistic second in command, Shelton is fittingly slimy, able to slither off the page as they wonder where their perfect plan derailed while torturing an innocent.

The Penton scathe begins settling into Omega, recovering from Matthias' latest attack in his seemingly relentless campaign of horror taking in Englishman, Cage Reyno The seamless transition from Absolution gives the feeling of a new chapter as Matthias' settles in to make the abandoned Penton his personal project headquarters. Matthias' sadistic second in command, Shelton is fittingly slimy, able to slither off the page as they wonder where their perfect plan derailed while torturing an innocent.

The Penton scathe begins settling into Omega, recovering from Matthias' latest attack in his seemingly relentless campaign of horror taking in Englishman, Cage Reynolds as a new lieutenant. Brooding over his father's treachery as he does his share of securing Omega and the humans, Will notices a huge increase in his own vampire powers.

Will and Randa's aggressive relationship turns sweetly acerbic with mutual attraction, secret trading and tense situations helps the pair overcome their personal damages. Tension is thick on the page as Cage infiltrates Matthias' Penton cadre learning how much Matthias knows about Omega. Meanwhile the Omega team shores up their defenses.

Matthias' tells Cage his plan to put Will at the sadistic mercy of Shelton to repeat the cruelties inflicted throughout Will's childhood. (Matthias and Sheldon hit rock bottom then create a lower level to slink to.) Cage is anxious to report what he's learned to the scathe then scopes a weapon Matthias could to use to paralyze our intrepid heroes.

Will and Randa are caught in debris while guarding the entrance when Matthias and Shelton toss grenades. Meanwhile, Cage tries to reason through the dilemma of whether to immobilize the weapon and report what he's learned or continue to the ruse to learn more and possibly get rid of Matthias for good when he hears an explosion.

Like previous outings, quality writing, well fleshed characters and a smooth storyline make this fast paced read enjoyable with bits of adventure, romance, human-like foibles and enough suspenseful moments to place it on the 're-read/favorite/snowed in with only this book' shelves of the library.

I thought this was the climax of the series and I could not have been any more right. Bring on the alpha males (totally swoon worthy)...

Ok so now we started off where we last ended where everyone went to omega and omg Will's sociopathic father finds out...However the way he finds out just pissed me off. I was so hoping Aiden would bloody him but sadly did not happen (politics what a bummer).

So the chemistry like always was off the hook and I cannot wait to see what happens with future books wit ...more
