I so love Duncan. He's been a great character since he appeared in Raphael's book. This book is about Duncan (vampire) and Emma (human). She works for a politician & is smart, scrappy, and his match. He just took over the D.C. area when their paths cross while she's looking for her friend who is missing. She stops at the "embassy" to try to find out what happened to her friend and talk to Victor. It just happens to be the day after Duncan arrived and took over, & disposed of Victor. Lots of acti ...more

Fan favorite, Duncan looks great striking his best alpha male pose. Duncan relinquishes his role as Raphael's right hand to become a territory lord in his own right by defeating Victor, the corrupt vampire lord of the Washington, DC area. Duncan, intrigued by both Emma and her allegation that Victor is responsible for her missing roo

Loved. Loved. Loved this book. Have been waiting for Duncan's book since the first of the series, D. B. Reynolds knows how to write. Good character development and interaction. Great story line. It definitely helps to understand this book if you have read the other books of the series before this one. But was one of those books I stayed up til I finished I just couldn't put it down. ...more

I love Duncan...I want Duncan...I need Duncan...
This was a fab story with a fab vampire in the leading role.
I can close my eyes and see this wonderful creature in my mind...Emma is one lucky girl.
This story is written with so much angst, so much action in and out of the bedroom...it pulled me in, grabbed on tight and didn't let me go...
Highly Recommend this story...Highly Recommend this entire series...
