Things get personal for Lily and Rule after Patrick takes Lily's sister
What I enjoyed:
* We meet Cynna who is a finder. She doesn't really fit the FBI mold.
* We find out more about the lupi and meet their Rhej (keeper of memories)
* Lily and Rule take an unintended trip to Dis (Hell)
* The demon Gan is a very interesting character who we will learn more about
* Dragons!
What could have been better:
* There was too much explanation of magic and demons, it bogged the story down
* The time is Dis was conf ...more

4.75stars really
This installment picks up shortly after book one ends providing closure to those threads. Lily & Rule seemed to be pre-occupied with new relationship-dom. She with the trivia and he with the guilt. This made some of their scenes necessary but not so much a gift as they worked through this theme. This read also featured a large chunk of time in a new location that may or may not become important to the series. However, the time spent in Dis was overlong for my taste. (Though my lu ...more

A bit disappointed as I didn't think the explanations made sense. Lily is trying to understand and control the mate bond that she and Rule have. If it was up to Rule, he would put Lily in a little safety bubble but Lily is FBI and she likes to think she can take care of herself. She grouses at the plans he makes without informing her, he makes plans without telling her knowing she would refuse. (view spoiler)

From Goodreads:
Former cop Lily Yu has her sister's wedding to attend, a missing magical staff to find, and now must deal with her grandmother's decision to return to the old country. Lily could turn to the man she's involved with for advice, but for all the passion that flares between them, she doesn't really know Rule Turner--she's just bound to him for life. Rule happens to be a werewolf, and Lily wonders just how far she can trust him.

Read a string of not-so-good books. Mortal Sin broke that chain. It's a good book, but my mind tends to wander from it. Just not gripping me tight enough.
I enjoyed Mortal Sin more than the first book. Even though it took me forever to read I'm going to give it a 4.
