I very much liked this book in spite of myself. I'm not a dystopia fan, and I liked but didn't love the first in this series. But I found this book much more enjoyable than Divergent. Tris and Tobias are much more developed characters, and I found their interactions with each other and with the various other characters to be very interesting and made them much rounder and enjoyable. What is so fascinating is the division of people throughout the different factions, not only the division of peopl

Alright, let's just get this right out there. I'm a bit disappointed. Divergent had me hooked so I was expecting a bit more from Insurgent. I can't really get into it all without spoiling it for those who haven't read it but here's the jest: the I hate you today/I love you today, back and forth ridiculousness that was going on between Four/Tobias and Tris was just annoying. I get that that can be a pretty common issue in 16 yr old relationships but keeping so many secrets from each other was jus

Good, but I read it immediately after Divergent and it didn't quite live up. Still excited for the third one in the series, but I missed the characters in this one - there just wasn't as much development or interaction between them as in the first book. (Had the same issue with Hunger Games #2.)

The story of Tris and Tobias (Four) continues. It had been a while since I had read Divergent, so I rented the movie to refresh the characters and factions. This book didn't have the impact that Divergent had though. There was too much emphasis on the romance between Tris and Tobias and it felt very juvenile at times. They kept going back and forth between loving each other, but not trusting each other. Even Tris's reasons for placing herself in danger all the time - because she felt guilty abou

I really enjoyed this book more than the first one. I was sucked into the story and spent many a late night thinking to myself "One more chapter, then lights out!" The big reveal at the end was pretty predictable but I still enjoyed it!

Couldn't get into this like Divergent. I wanted to love it! I guess it just didn't click for me.
