3.5 stars. It was great to see characters from VA, but it was not as good as I had hoped. I am not an Adrian girl, so that is probably a big part of it.

This book starts off exactly where Last Sacrifice ends. I wouldn't even call it a spin-off since every character from VA appears in this book except Lissa though she is spoken of. The only difference is that Sydney and the Alchemists are center stage. Otherwise it is a complete regurgitation of the VA series but instead of Rose, Lissa, Christian and Dimitri we have Sydney, Jill, Adrian and Eddie. i thought this was a great book. i really enjoyed reading it. Once I got started I could not put the book down. I liked how the author took one character from the VA books and made another series. The main charcters are great. I can not wait to read the next book

In some parts of the book i just knew what would happen and that makes it weak for me. All the business with tattoos was so obviouse. Only thing that made it better was that there where more in the story then tattoos.
