A bit disappointing after the excellent tv show. The plot could have been spread out over a trilogy if she'd wanted, I spent most of the the time wishing she'd just linger a bit and fill out the characters and setting, build more suspense - milk the whole southern gothic atmos.

So quite simply, I have watched season one of true blood and I new that it was exactly based on the first book, so I wasnt expecting anything as fantastic and suprising to happen. I will read the next couple though.
