Second read
I rarely reread books, so the ones that I want to spend time doing so I figure should be given 5 stars. I enjoyed this reread as much as the first time around, and probably more so. To be able to write about smell and be able to translate that feeling from the printed page to the reader is quite an accomplishment.

First read
Waffling between 3 and 4 stars, went with 4 only because of the uniqueness of the story and I loved the descriptions of everything. I felt genuine repulsion for Gre ...more

Shelves: mystery-thriller, 1001

Reading this book made me realize how poor my sense of smell is. I never thought about the smell of rocks, well maybe on a summer day. The authors prose is amazing, I also watched the mover after reading the book, It was well done.
