Now I realize why Tostoy is called the Father of Russian literature! His writing is powerful and so evocative of Russia. It portrays the exaggerated quality of life in this vast,cold land. The harshness of the climate is reflected by the lives and emotions of the characters.The quality of introspection seems almost a part of the Russian psyche.Russian writers also have a penchant for philosophizing and digging deep into the human soul.
