This book came highly recommended. I struggle with whether to give it 4 or 5 stars, but when a book leaves me thinking about it's story or content for a long time afterwards, I will usually give it a higher rating. The story is captivating immediately. The first few chapters were hard to read and left my heart pounding, but once you got past that it was enjoyable reading. I enjoyed this book enough to recommend it to people I know that have some religion to them. I can tell you the author has not gone though a missing person or a murder of someone close to them. I thought it was just a little too neat for what has happened. "The Great Sadness" was suppose to reflect Mack's depression but it seemed more like a way to describe a place where the author had never been.
