അത്താഴത്തിനു ശേഷം തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി നാലു മണിക്കൂര്‍.... കൊണ്ട് ആട്‌ജീവിതം വായിച്ചു തീര്‍ത്തു....തികച്ചും തീവ്രമായ ഒരു ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ പകര്‍പ്പെഴുത്ത്....മലയാളത്തിനു തികച്ചും അന്യമായ ഒരു ജീവിതം...
സ്വപ്നങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരവും പേറി അറബിനാട്ടില്‍ എത്തപ്പെട്ടു..ഒടുവില്‍ ആടുകളുടെ കൂടെ ഒരു നിഷ്ടുരനായ അറബിയുടെ അടിമയായി ജീവിച്ച ഒരു പാവം മനുഷ്യന്‍റെ ചോരവീണ കഥ....

Sitting in the air conditioned lounge of a coffee shop, sipping on freshly brewed coffee and mumbling that life is becoming dull to a good looking woman was I. മരുഭൂവിലെ കഷ്ടപ്പാട് നിറഞ്ഞ ജീവിതം, അതിന്റെ തീവ്രത ഒട്ടും കുറയാതെ ഇതില്‍ വരച്ചു കാട്ടാന്‍ ബെന്യാമിന് കഴിഞ്ഞു. ഏകനായ നായകന്‍റെ ജീവിതം വിരസത ഉളവാക്കാതെ പറയുന്നതില്‍ കഥാകാരന്‍ വിജയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. നാമേവരും വായിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ട ഒരു നോവല്‍.
ആടുജീവിതം
നജീബ് മുഹമ്മദ് എന്നെ ഒരുപാട് ചിന്തിപ്പിക്കുകയും അതോടൊപ്പംതന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ കൃതി വായിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം ഞാൻ നജീബ് ആണെന്ന് വെറുതെ സങ്കല്പിച്ചു, അതെന്നെ എന്തെന്നില്ലാതെ വേദനപെടുത്തി. നജീബിനെ പോലെ ഒരു ദിവസം ഞാൻ കുളിക്കാതിരിക്കുക്കയും ചെയ്തു, അത് എന്നെ അത്ര മാത്രം ബാധിച്ചിരുന്നു.
നമ്മൾക്ക് ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവരുടെ പരിചയങ്ങളും അനുഭവങ്ങളും ആണോ നാം അവരിൽ നിന്നും പഠിക്കുന്ന പാഠങ്ങൾ? എങ്കിൽ നജീബ് ഒരു ആട് ആയി മാറിയതിൽ ഒരു അതിശയോക്തിയും ഇല്ല. നമ്മളുടെ കൂടെ ഉള്ളവർ നമ്മളെ ഇത്ര അധികം സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്നു ...more

A very good book, reading this book itself was a very good experience. When I came to know that this is based on a true story, I was horrified. One of the best book I read.
