4.5 stars. Surprisingly good.

I wavered between feeling like 4 or 4.5 stars, but I finally went with a solid 4 stars for this. I had initially wondered how you could "redeem" Scott in his own story, and I really like what was done. I love him trying to make amends and work on his anger and what he had said and done, and I like that we finally knew his backstory and why he was the way he was.

Throughout previous Pickup Men stories Scott has been portrayed in a less than complimentary light. He's rather unlikable in fact with his homophobic attitude and actions. That's why it takes a great talent to make readers care about someone so unlikable. Ms. Chase does just that by showing us a man carrying tons of emotional baggage that we learn through his backstory. Learning about his past doesn't erase all he's done until now but it does help us understand why he's the way he is. I felt mor
