Reading a book solely made up of written letters to different parties was a little hard to follow for me. I got bits and pieces of the story; however there didn't seem to be a real clear storyline throughout. This book has been made into a film, so hopefully when I watch it, it might clear up the story for me. ...more

Very good book. The whole book was written in letters (mail). A girl goes there to write a book about the Occupation. She tends to a little orphan girl. Just excellent.

The story of occupied English Islands as told through letters after it was over. An enjoyable read.

At first it was awkward reading a book of letters, but after a couple of letters i really got to know and love Juliet. A great story is told by what each character feels is important to reveal to another person. We have lost something with our modern technology correspondence. Very few people save their email or texts. Plus there is something special with a handwritten note. Outside of my rambling thoughts this book tells a great story.

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
Witty and unique. A perfect read for a holiday weekend. Highlights the delightful ordinariness and quirkiness of everyday heroes and heroines. *Contented Sigh*
