Beautiful. Simply beautiful. I was drawn by the very first chapter and sad when I finshed the last one. My heart was broken a couple of times by the characters, but I loved the journey. Bitter and Sweet is a perfect fit for the title. There are many things to be bitter about - especially with the Japanese interment during WWII. Although a decent story, i felt as if the plot and characters could of been better developed. The bitter was the underdevelopment of some of the characters and the sweet was the unneccesary "fluff" added to the plot.
