I absolutely LOVED this book. It was a great win from a goodreads giveaway, and after a month or so of so-so books, this one really hit the spot.

When Ibby is sent to live with her eccentric grandma Fannie, just days after her father's sudden death she has no idea what she's in for. Set in New Orleans during the Civil Rights Movement, Dollbaby is the story of Ibby growing up with her grandma, Fannie, after her father dies in an accident and her mom abandons her. She is raised by Fannie and her New Orleans family, including Queenie, Doll, Crow, and Birdelia.
Loved, loved, loved this. Need to make Mom and Grandma read.
