This is one of those books that is written very well, but just isn't mine to love. You know what I mean, right? The plot is expertly orchestrated, the characters are interesting, the language is vivid, and the pacing is not bad, but overall I was frankly bored with the story. My lack of excitement was particularly evident in the first hundred pages or so and the last couple hundred. Februrary 2023 Reread. After rereading and loving A Visit to the Goon Squad and Station Eleven last year, before the authors' new books, I made it my reading goal this year to reread a favorite book every month. I am not a big comic book fan so reading a book about comic books wasn't high on my list. However, this book did make the Ultimate List, 1001 Books to Read Before You Die, Rory Gilmore's Reading List, and favorite books of Facebook's Fine Literature Book Club.
