In 1914, Theodore Roosevelt traveled to South America and undertook an extremely dangerous expedition down an uncharted river in the Amazon river basin. This book tells the story of that journey. It is well told, with fascinating tidbits about politics, history, science, and nature sprinkled throughout the narrative.
