I didn't like this as much as everyone else seems to have. One of the book's biggest appeals are the pop culture references, but part of the problem for me (and not really the fault of the book) is that the author's 80s pop culture touchstones were not my 80s pop culture touchstones, with a few exceptions.

I regret not pulling this book off my shelf, dusting it off and reading it sooner. This book was so good. Having been in high school and college in the eighties, this book was just a celebration of things I loved and still love for sentimental reasons. The world changes so quickly and in hindsight you yearn for those times and how happy you were without even realizing it. I really hope the movie does this book justice.
