This book has been reviewed by others as a thriller. While the last 100 pages may be that, it seems to be more of a mystery that is character driven rather than plot driven. I really liked this book. Set in Louisiana on a historic plantation, it is the story of selling out to big business vs. historic preservation. It is also the story of sugar cane and migrant workers.
