I'm reading this for a book discussion group. I probably would have read this otherwise, but I'm glad that I did. While I have known about internment camps I never really knew what life was like. It is amazing how many people want to immigrate here, yet we always find ways to discrimate against others. I like the fact Jeannie was able to keep the book focused to her view point as a tween - teen in this book. It was a simple story and beautifully told.
