“Parents die, daughters grow up and marry out, but sisters are for life.”

I enjoyed this historical fiction novel about two sisters - May and Pearl. I learned quite a bit about Chinese culture and the struggles of being Chinese Americans in the 1940s and 50s. I love this author, and this audiobook is the best of the best. I am thankful my sister and I did not act like these sisters.

Two Sisters and a family showing many ethnic values. There are many twists and turns to the book that you do not expect. This book does show the strengths and weaknesses of people.
