I can't express how perfect this book was. DIVERGENT is dystopian done right. First of all I loved Tris. I love that she wasn't perfect. I loved her strength. Nothing in this story was sugar coated and I love that. The writing was flawless and beautiful. The world was one I can't get out of my head. If there was a ranking higher than 5 stars this book would get it. I am in love with this book and can't wait for the sequel!

Beatrice Prior has turned sixteen and she now has to decide which of five factions to join for life (Abnegation/the selfless, Candor/the honest, Dauntless/the brave, Amity/the peaceful or Erudite/the intelligent).
She was born Abnegation and must decide whether to help others (and stay with her family) or help herself and be free in another faction.
I am a big fan of dystopia and think the idea for this book is interesting and exciting.

If you have visited a YA book blog in the last six months, chances are you’ve come across a glowing review (or ten) for Veronica Roth’s debut novel, Divergent. I won’t waste your time: all those rave reviews? Totally spot on.
The dystopian genre is quite hit or miss for me. I have found myself totally put off by worlds I can never assimilate myself into (either with crazy jargon or unrealistic plots, even by dystopian standards), and I have alternately found myself completely immersed in a foreig ...more

I’m always hesitant of novels that have ended up on bestseller lists, especially since the whole Twilight fiasco all those years ago. Reading Divergent was something that I had wanted to do since it had come out, but I kept having to put it off because of one thing or another, and by the time I got back to it, I was hesitant to read it. It was recommended to me as a read for this month and so I took on the challenge and actually sat down to read Divergent, allowing myself to get into the book an

Well I can definitely see why this is one of the most talked about books of 2011. Divergent is truly amazing. Everything connected and flowed, the whole setting was very realistic! The different factions Erudite, Candor, Dauntless, Abnegation and Amity were presented with their own set of rules and personalities.
The characters felt very believable and I enjoyed seeing the flaws as well as positive traits of many of the characters such as, Four and Tris.

Wow...
Reading this book felt like a dejavu. It's Hunger Games all over again..
It's not that they are the same but both books gave me the same feeling. It's a roller coaster of emotion with full packed action. By the end of this, I was drained. Can't stop sobbing too. Anyway, this book deserve the high rating it has now in Goodreads. ...more

This book was incredible! I had to keep on reading it until I finished it in one day it was that amazing. It reminded me something like the Hunger Games meets the Matched yet it had so many unique features I almost feel l ike it's appalling to compare it to anything. Well written, and extremely compelling, I'd highly suggest it!

WHY DIDN'T I READ THIS AGES AGO? BECAUSE I'M STUPID!
I had a funny feeling about this book. I think I was afraid it wouldn't live up to it's hype and I actually haven't read a lot of dystopian novels and I wasn't sure if it'd be my style or not, so I kept pushing it to the side. I'm very sorry I did, because I'm in awe at how mind-blowing this book was and I wished I would have gotten to know Tris and Four a long time ago! When I first read the description of this book, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. I started reading Divergent on a Saturday evening, and finished it a week later. My mind has been blown away by this futuristic world that Veronica Roth has created for us Readers. I instantly fell in love with the 2 main characters Tris and Four. As well as the lifestyle of the Dauntless Faction (At first). It’s definitely something I could never do and I found it absolutely fascinating.

I could not put this book down! It is amazingly written;it grapes your attention from the first page and doesn't let go until the end, and leaves you eager for more. For me it was better than The Hunger Games.

Very good - and I was worried it wouldn't live up to all the hype. I did have one problem with it though. I felt like the whole book switched gears VERY suddenly after the initiations were over. I had to re-read to a few things to make sure it wasn't just another simulation. Other than that disjointedness, I thought this was a winner.

I REALLY liked this book. I'm sad that I'll have to wait until Spring/Summer 2012 for the second book to come out!
