ARC generously provided by the author. Please note I'm voluntarily leaving my honest review!!

Oh my unholy beings... where to start? Okay, let's start with my beginning. The one where I read the blurb on a random Facebook post, stalked the author and basically begged for an ARC of this book - which I'm not sorry about!!

This is Brianna's debut book, which is not noticeable at any point. The writing is powerful, heartfelt, raw and beautiful. (Seriously y'all, she had me in tears at one point.

She was a wicked creature, a perfect tornado, an emotionally charged full moon.
And she completely owned me.

The Rise in Monsters is Brianna Jean’s debut novel. It’s a reverse harem that is both sexy and dark. It’s about taking chances even though the unknown is the riskiest thing to them all.

This was pretty decent. Maybe not quite 4 stars, but pretty close.

Sometimes a RH book manages to use a lot of the tropes I usually have no tolerance for and somehow make it work fot me, and this one mainly did.

Yes, you had a lot of the RH stereotypes on display and there was the occasional eye roll, but I did enjoy it.

So if you like your RH with anti heroine/hero types and dark romance, then give this a try.

👍👍 🖤 🖤

This was an awesome freaking book and I want book 2 like yesterday. I got sucked in from page one and almost felt traumatized by the killer ending. I loved the story and the characters. I can't wait to read the next one.

I thought this book sounded like something I would enjoy based on the description, but at almost halfway through I am putting it down. It's not that I don't enjoy the descriptive world building, but in my opinion, there is no real story here. At halfway through the book, I get it... these characters are DARK. Aside from that, what is there? No plot really, no mystery, I don't even know where this is going other than "fated mates" which honestly, could have been shortened a LOT. Maybe I will try ...more
