This book is exceptional.

I have been highly anticipating it, and this whole series, after the author's Blood Trials series was my favourite read of last year. A word to the wise: if you liked this series and haven't read Blood Trials, so it immediately!

At the end of the last book poor Andie had been hurt and betrayed and was left devastated. When this book picks up we see Andie try and move on from what has happened, but she is held back from moving on by knowing that there is no future where he This book is exceptional.

At the end of the last book poor Andie had been hurt and betrayed and was left devastated. When this book picks up we see Andie try and move on from what has happened, but she is held back from moving on by knowing that there is no future where her and Sascha can be happy as long as the game exists and there is a winner and a looser.

Cue the main plot of this novel, which is Andie being an absolute intelligent, cunning and brave legend and going all out to get the future she believes they all deserve.

So many things impressed me about this book, but a few stand out. Firstly, I love how Andie wasn't afraid to stand on her own and make personal sacrifices for what she felt was right, knowing she had to be able to live with herself. Had the characterisation not been so masterful, this would have come away as tedious and self sacrificing with a lesser author, but my heart both broke for and applauded Andie several times.

I also love what the author did with Rhona'w character arc. Again, a lesser author would have gone the obvious, tropey path, but I was so impressed and moved by the storyline and how is was presented.

The presentation of friendship was so lovely as well. Wade, Cam and many of the secondary characters really shone as well.

Finally, Andie and Sascha. They were just utterly superb. The romantic and hot highs were coupled with angsty lows, but again, the angst was presented through such excellent characterisation that I didn't eye roll once (highly unusual for me). I even found my self welling up at the end and getting all emotional, also unusual.

In summary, if you javbt read this series, go read Blood Trials and the other two books, then read this from the start. If you've read the first two books, I can't see how you won't adore this as much as I did. ...more

I was so excited to read this final book and I am glad to say that not only was I not disappointed but supremely happy. These amazing characters got the send off they deserved with a well rounded fast paced story that had me flipping pages as fast as I could read them. I also loved the vampire cameos!
