I first read this book back in the early '90s to get some insights for a submarine engineering project I was working on. I read it again recently as I'm now writing a book about said project.

As an engineer, I found the book a great story, one that should be read by all current and prospective engineers. It gives a thorough account of a small group of MIT engineers who build a human-powered airplane that would fly from Crete to Santorini, recreating the mythical flight of Icarus and Daedalus.
