What I found fascinating about this book was the history of the first museums and how they were inspired by carnival freakshows. I'm sort of obsessed with carnivals, freakshows and monsters so I really liked that aspect of the novel. Preston and Child are method writers, so it's easy to get into their books and they go the distance of writing really well. Normally I do not enjoy horror books, but I love the Lincoln Child, Douglas Preston books! I can't get enough of them. They are so well-written and brilliantly researched! Yes, they are scary and creepy, but so interesting to read. I recommend a strong stomach and a nightlight! Enjoy!

This book hooked me in from the start, and took me on a ride. I couldn't put it down once I started. Agent Pendergast has to be one of my all time favorite characters.
