Diese Rezension ist aus meinem Frust über die ganzen vier und fünf Sterne Wertungen, die ich die letzten Monate gesehen habe, geboren. Was seht ihr, was ich nicht sehe? Hätte ich dieses Buch nicht für eine Aktion gelesen, ich hätte Crescent City sehr wahrscheinlich sehr früh abgebrochen und nicht zurück geblickt.

4,5 Punkte für einen genialen Weltenaufbau, der sich mit einem modernen Setting, aber mit mystischen, magischen Elementen verbindet, in denen alle möglichen Wesen gemeinsam leben. Schon allein diese Idee und die Vielfalt ist genial und hat mir zwar zu Beginn Kopfschmerzen bereitet, aber dann konnte ich mich so richtig gut einfühlen und liebte diese Vielseitigkeit der Stadt und deren Bewohner. Einfach großartig!
4,5 Sterne :)
Ich finde das Buch sehr spannend und bin gespannt wie es irgendwann einmal weiter geht mit Bryce, denn in der Geschichte steckt noch großes Potenzial. Die 0,5 Sterne gibt es als Abzug, da ich die ersten 100-150 Seiten sehr mühsam finde, es war für mich einfach zu viel Input, zu viele Namen, zu viele Zusammenhänge, aber das hat sich dann zum Glück alles entspannt.

Gonna stop that one just right now and here. I don’t think, that it’s suited for me. Probably because I don’t like the world building and all the characters feel like recycled versions of the cast of Throne of Glass and A Court of Thrones and Roses. I’m also not getting the point of swearing just for the sake of swearing. That might be a character quirk, but everyone is swearing SO MUCH. That seems highly unlikely, doesn’t it?

Das Hörbuch ist echt gut. Die Erzählerin hat das sehr mitreißend gemacht. Mir haben die musikalischen Abschnitte auch echt super gefallen. Mag sowas eigentlich nicht so, aber das war immer sehr passend.
4,5 Stern hier von mir. Ich mag B und bin gespannt wie es mit ihr weitergeht. Welche Kräfte sie nun entwickelt hat und was mit Hunt passiert.

I liked reading it, but sadly, there was simultaneously too much and too less going on.
The worldbuilding is super intense, rich, and unique, but during the middle part of the story, it kinda dragged for me.
The investigation led to a lot of dead ends, and it felt like it wasn't really going anywhere 🤷🏼♀️
Chapter 66 changes everything, but there was almost too much change/hidden secrets and world shattering revelations.

obsessed with it - best thing i read so far this year.
Had some difficulties at the beginning to get into the story but couldn’t put the book down afterwards. And maybe I cried a little when a supporting character sacrificed themselves
