What Members Thought

This book doesn't read like a first book in a series. I was reading it thinking "Did I pick up the wrong book?" I didn't worry about it at first because I read the series a long time ago and am now pulling the comic (which is a lot of fun by the way) and thought that I just remembered more than I thought I did. Nope. The story references characters like a second book in a series would - quick references to looks and a history already established. It was very strange.

The story of Anita Blake who raises zombies from the dead and helps out with supernatural police investigations for a living, and in her spare time she hunts and kills vampires who have broken the law. The title really says it all, I liked the book and yet felt kind of bad about liking it, it isn't good literature it's just strange fun. The writing style is interesting, it is personal and very sarcastic (it reminds me a bit of how I think/talk...scary).

I am re-reading all of these books because the newest one came out a while ago and there was a lot that I'd forgotten. I'm writing about them on my book blog but don't read the blog if you don't want spoilers!

Nice book. I easily got caught up in the characters and waited impatiently to see if they were going to be ok. I have to chack out the rest of the series now!

Didn't make it past the first couple of chapters.
