Miles is no longer Admiral Naismith, but he has been appointed to a position as an Imperial Auditor, which in this universe is like being the hand of the emperor to investigate crimes and situations. Miles is suffering even more physical ailments than ever before, but his mind is just as acute and he will need all of his wits on Komarr.

How does she do it? Always fresh trauma to drench Miles through. And he always helps those he meets...well not the bad guys! LOL.
