کتابی که بر خلاف کتاب‌هایی مثل آقای دوشنبه و سابریل از یک سری و مجموعه نیست و کتابی مستقل و کامل است. کتابی که خیلی عمیق و جدی نیست، داستانی از ماجراجویی است.

Sigh, just wrote a long summary and then lost it.

15 years ago all the adults on the planet (over 14) disappeared and in their absence a group of monsters arrived lead by 7 Overlords. The children were picked up and placed into dorms, where they live until they turn 14 (their sad birthday). At 14 they are taken to the Meat Factory, where parts of them will be used to build new monsters to serve an Overlord and battle for parts of the city.

This one features an improbable dystopia and non-stop adventure. Nasty nasty creatures from perhaps another dimension have made all the adults disappear and for 15 years have been raising and refashioning children to use in their war games. It's all very creepy and exciting, but never quite makes sense. An AI named Shade has created a sanctuary for escapees from the is trying to save them, or is he?
